ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Night shift position with 36 or 48 hours available per week
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Must adhere to float policy and may be asked to float within scope of practice within the facility
• 2 years of experience required
• Strong familiarity with Swan-Ganz catheters, vasoactive drips, arterial lines, advanced heart failure, and post-procedure care including STEMIs and TAVRs required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• BSN preferred
• Virginia nursing license required; pending license accepted at time of submission but must be in-hand prior to start date
• Key skills include arterial line management, central line care, pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips, ventilator management, CRRT/CVVHD, IABP, Impella, TAVR/TMVR post-procedure care, and therapeutic hypothermia protocol
• Specialty training required for IV prostacyclin infusions
• Special equipment includes CRRT NextStage, IVTM Zoll Thermogard, thermodilution cardiac output, transvenous pacing, and intra-aortic balloon pumps
• Treats adult and geriatric patient populations
• Common diagnoses include STEMI, NSTEMI, acute decompensated heart failure, myocardial infarction, post-resuscitation management, pulmonary hypertension, dysrhythmias, and valvular conditions
• Pre-approved time off is limited to 40 hours maximum per 13-week contract; no additional RTO approved after acceptance
• Time off cannot be approved around Labor Day
