Electrophysiology Lab

Job Details:

• Work 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, primarily days with some late nights and evenings
• Holiday and on-call/call shifts required per unit needs
• No weekends at this time
• Prepare patients for electrophysiology procedures and ensure all equipment and instrumentation is in working order
• Monitor read-outs and recordings during procedures and assist with lab analysis and interpretation of data
• Communicate findings and issues to physician or specialist
• Assist physicians with pacing implementation and installation of permanent cardiac devices
• Communicate with MDs and in-room staff to ensure all equipment and supplies are available
• Assist with room turnover and on-time starts for timely patient care
• Coordinate with Charge Nurse and third-party vendors to ensure all team members are available for scheduled procedures
• Assist at the sterile field prepping patients and equipment for studies and ablations as the circulator
• Maintain fluids for the ablation catheter and provide assistance with ablator
• Remain patient focused, assisting Anesthesia and documenting during studies and ablations, and providing backup pacing during implants
• Document procedures using Epic - proficiency required
• Must be proficient in moderate sedation
• Typical procedures include RF ablations, cryo ablations, device implants including traditional pacemakers, ICDs, leadless pacemakers, loop recorders, and LAAC procedures
• Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience preferred but not required
• GE (MacLab & CardioLab) system experience preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• New York RN license required
• Required certification: BLS (American Heart Association only)
