About this role
Join Barnes-Jewish Hospital as a Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology. You will provide direct patient care across adult IR procedures in a fast-paced, procedure-driven environment serving both inpatient and outpatient populations.
Schedule & Expectations
- 4x10 shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with potential to work past 6:00 PM during active procedures
- Every 5th or 6th Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as needed
- Weeknight call (Monday–Thursday, 6:00 PM to 7:30 AM): approximately 3–4 times during the 13-week contract
- Weekend call (Friday 6:00 PM to Monday 7:30 AM): approximately 1–2 weekends during the contract
- Weekly backup designation to remain past shift end for procedure completion
- Average daily census: 8 patients per nurse
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform pre-procedure phone calls and deliver pre- and post-procedure care
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation (Fentanyl, Versed)
- Titrate drips and manage central lines
- Assist with ultrasound, fluoroscopic, and CT-guided procedures including bone biopsies
- Treat all adult IR cases: body, vascular, and neuro interventional
- Work independently with minimal supervision
Requirements
- RN degree with current BSN
- 2 years nursing experience minimum
- Critical care background (ICU or ED) or procedural experience required
- Trauma Level I facility experience required
- ACLS and BLS certification
- Relias EKG exam: Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias
- Skills: Dysrhythmia interpretation/management, procedural sedation monitoring and administration, ventilator management
- IR experience preferred but not required; first-time travelers welcome
Facility Details
Phillips monitors and EPIC charting system. Navy scrubs required. No visible tattoos; facial piercings must be removed or covered during shifts.
