RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• AM shift with every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation required - staff must work one summer and one winter holiday
• Staff are assigned to groups for self-scheduling, with groups rotated every scheduling period (weekly)
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Position will require floating at times to cover staffing needs
• 32-bed medical/surgical unit focused on new technologies and innovative nursing practice
• Unit is an early adopter of new technology, new equipment, and nursing practice models
• Hercules beds are utilized on this unit
• Treat patients across a variety of diagnoses including cellulitis, pneumonia, dementia, renal failure, GI bleed, sepsis, COPD, wound care, and more
• Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certification: BLS
• Charting system: Meditech (preferred)
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required skills include: blood product administration, heparin, insulin, IV insulin protocols, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, telemetry remote monitoring, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care/management, high flow nasal cannula, PCA, feeding tube care and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Locals within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
