PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with 36 guaranteed hours per week on an 8-bed observation unit.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care with a ratio of 1:4
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Manage patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre- and post-operative urology and GI cases, and cardiac drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin)
• Read and interpret EKG strips as required
• Support high-volume admissions and discharges with average patient stays up to 48 hours
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday

Assignment Details:

• Start date: July 6, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly pay: $2,402.64
• Contract includes 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, available in hour increments; unit typically uses low census in 4-hour increments

Requirements:

• Wisconsin RN License
• BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS certification highly preferred
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate in nursing
• EKG exam required during compliance
• Background in observation units or Med-Surg/Telemetry preferred
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
