Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week with 36 estimated hours per week
• Provide respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities across all patient populations and service areas
• Read prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to assess conditions and determine treatment requirements
• Determine appropriate methods for administering inhalants and necessary modifications in accordance with physician orders
• Evaluate appropriateness of medical orders and interpret clinical data to optimize patient outcomes
• Set up and operate mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Monitor and adjust equipment to ensure specified treatment parameters including volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature
• Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy including vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes
• Perform bronchopulmonary drainage and assist patients with breathing exercises
• Perform pulmonary function tests and consult with physician in the event of adverse reactions
• Assist with transport of mechanically ventilated patients and respond to all code situations
• Maintain patient charts with pertinent identification and therapy information
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - no other candidates will be accepted
• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory program required
• Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• NRP may be required
• State license required
