Med Surg RN Job in Alexandria, LA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 36-bed medical surgical unit at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA. This position offers 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with every other weekend and holiday rotation required.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care with a 1:6 patient ratio on the Med Surg unit
• Float to other units as needed per facility policy
• Perform hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and utilize My Care Boards and AIDET patient experience protocols
• Perform procedures including PICC line removal and vascular or temporary catheter removal
• Interpret advanced telemetry rhythms and monitor patients using bedside equipment
• Document patient care using the Meditech system
• Collaborate with highly experienced nursing staff and utilize iMobile technology and advanced call light systems

Required Qualifications

• Current RN licensure
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong assessment skills and attention to detail
• Advanced telemetry rhythm interpretation ability
• Demonstrated flexibility, dependability, and teamwork
• Strong communication and people skills

What You'll Work With

• Telemetry monitors, Dynamaps vital sign devices, glucometers, iMobile phones, and bladder scanners in each room
• Self-scheduling available within facility guidelines
• Facility dress code: Ceil Blue scrubs with adherence to hospital hygiene policies

This 91-day assignment begins April 27, 2026, and offers $2,233.80 weekly pay.
