About this role

You will work as an RN in a float pool serving multiple acute-care hospitals across the Zone 3 region (60-mile radius from Denver). This role combines direct patient care with charge nurse responsibilities across varying acuity levels.

  • Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Schedule released 4–6 weeks in advance with two options: assignment to a single facility for the week, or Just-In-Time assignment 1–2 hours before shift start. Expect 6–9 weekend shifts in a 6-week block.
  • Rotation and Facilities: Float among OrthoColorado Hospital, Longmont United Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital, and St. Anthony North Hospital. You may be assigned to ICU, PCU/Stepdown, or Med-Surg Telemetry depending on facility needs.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Serve as charge nurse and manage direct patient assignments. Patient ratios are 1:1–2 depending on acuity, with flexibility up to 1:3 for lower-acuity patients. Maintain 1:1 ratio for high-acuity patients on CRRT, IABP, Impella, or similar devices. Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin. Respond to codes and rapid responses. Read and interpret telemetry strips independently. Troubleshoot and manage respiratory equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow systems.
  • Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, and TNCC.
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum 2 years ICU experience and prior charge nurse experience required. Travel experience is preferred. First-time travelers must have 3+ years ICU experience and familiarity with Epic.
  • Charting and Logistics: Use Epic charting system. Any color scrubs permitted. Orientation includes 1–2 days with a preceptor. You must live within 60 miles of all Zone 3 facilities. May be required for holiday rotation and occasional call or standby for low-census situations.

Duration: 91 days. Start date: July 6, 2026. Weekly pay: $2,384.64.
