Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Provide direct patient care under limited supervision on the medical-surgical unit
• Plan, direct, and evaluate total nursing care for Med-Surg patients
• Work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Current Iowa nursing license required
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience required
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification required within 6 months of hire
• Must wear appropriate apparel and display nametag
• Administer medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation in patient records
• Utilize nursing knowledge and judgment to implement physician orders and nursing care plans
• Evaluate patient/family responses and modify care plans accordingly
• Support and enforce infection control policies and procedures
• Participate in orientation and in-service training
• Work independently using Nurse Practice Act guidelines and professional judgment
• Demonstrate effective communication skills with staff, patients, and visitors
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
