Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

Mercy Hospital St Louis is seeking an RN for a Med Surg Neuro position on the night shift. You will provide direct nursing care to neurosurgical patients and those with acute neurological conditions in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

Position Details

• Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Schedule: Rotating weekends with expectation of every other full weekend off
• Patient ratio: 1:5–6
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 based on your preference
• No call requirements
• Expected to work at least one major winter holiday

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care for neurosurgical patients, including those with stroke, seizures, MS, spinal injuries, head trauma, and other neurological diagnoses
• Apply the nursing process to maintain professional accountability and evaluate care effectiveness
• Coordinate patient care across departments while upholding patient rights and confidentiality
• Assume occasional Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed
• Float within scope of practice when required

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient acute care Med Surg and Neuro experience
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to pass on-site FIT test
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Black scrubs required
