Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)
• Holiday requirement includes working 2 days and an eve or 2 eves and a day for Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving
• No on-call or standby requirement
• First to float; may float to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with nurse aide support at 1:10-15
• 49-bed Telemetry unit on the 3rd floor
• Common diagnoses include CHF, respiratory, GI, diabetics, telemetry, post-cath, and total joint replacement patients
• Required to read and interpret telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift
• Administer Diltiazem/Cardizem drips at a set rate (no titration required)
• Experience with BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatments required
• Cerner charting system experience strongly recommended as only one day of orientation is provided
• Experience with CVA, TIA, and total joint replacement preferred
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to signing contract
• Self-scheduling used on a 4-week schedule, finalized by manager
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• BSN not required
