NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Job Details:

• Work in the NICU caring for neonates and infants with an average daily census of 30 patients
• Patient ratio of 1:3 on days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Float required to Mother Baby and Pediatrics units
• 24-hour orientation period
• 46-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary
• Epic charting system experience required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required for previous travelers; minimum 3 years of NICU experience required for first-time travelers
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP (AHA certifications required)
• Compact or Louisiana license in hand upon submittal
• Must reside more than 65 miles from facility (address on driver's license to site address)
• Patient diagnoses include prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, TTN, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, feeding difficulties, thermoregulation, and NOWS
• Special procedures include umbilical lines, lumbar puncture, PICC, and intubation
• Special equipment includes oscillator, jet, bubble CPAP, HFNC, and transcutaneous CO2
• Required skills include administration of blood and blood products, APGAR scoring, bubble CPAP, neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis care, thermoregulation, and umbilical artery and vein catheter management
