NICU RN Job in Odessa, TX

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in a high-risk Level III NICU at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 7, 2026, with 3x12 night shifts and a weekly pay of $2,229.12.

Role Overview

You will provide direct care to neonates at 29+ weeks gestational age in a Level III NICU environment. Your patient ratio will be 3:1 across day, night, and weekend shifts. The unit uses a self-scheduling system and may require you to float to Pediatrics and Nursery units as needed. You'll receive 36 hours of orientation to support your transition.

Required Experience & Credentials

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, and STABLE
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system
• Flu vaccination required (medical and religious exemptions allowed)

Clinical Skills & Knowledge

You must be competent in ventilator management, central line care, umbilical catheter management, high-frequency ventilation, and therapeutic hypothermia. You'll care for patients with respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal sepsis, necrotizing enterocolitis, and neonatal abstinence syndrome.

The facility provides interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and social work to help you deliver comprehensive care.
