Telemetry RN Job in Lafayette, LA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the Telemetry unit at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. This is a 56-week travel assignment with 3x12 night shifts at $2,172.60 per week.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a 6:1 patient ratio on day, night, and weekend shifts
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including chest pain, coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, arrhythmias, diabetes, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, myocardial infarction, renal failure, pulmonary embolism, congestive heart failure, GI bleed, and syncope
• Accept overflow assignments from medical-surgical units including sepsis, cerebrovascular accident, and COVID-positive cases
• Perform pre and post cardiac catheterization care, pacemaker and AICD procedure support, ablation monitoring, and vascular surgery care
• Titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and heparin
• Perform bedside sheath removal procedures
• Manage telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, patient-controlled anesthesia, epidurals, and wound vacs
• Participate in facility emergency team assignments as required

Requirements

• Current RN license: Compact or Louisiana
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management skills
• Minimum 2 years experience in Telemetry specialty
• Valid driver's license showing residence over 65 miles from facility
• NURSYS report required within 4 weeks of submission
