PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN on the A 4 West Adult Medical Surgical unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 34-bed PCU where you'll provide direct patient care on a nights schedule.

Schedule & Duration

• 3x12 nights per week: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• 91-day assignment starting April 27, 2026
• Every other weekend required or 6 weekend shifts per pay period
• Huddles at 6:50 PM; clock in no earlier than 6:38 PM
• Required to clock out and in for meal breaks

Patient Care & Responsibilities

• Night shift patient ratios of 1:5–7 patients
• Monitor telemetry, manage IV fluids and antibiotics, administer tube feeds and PEG feedings
• Assess medical surgical level patients and alert appropriate personnel when acuity changes
• May float to other medical surgical units or occasionally to the ED holding pod
• Work collaboratively with CNAs and nursing staff
• Use Cerner EMR system

Requirements & Qualifications

• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Telemetry rhythm interpretation capabilities
• Critical thinking and strong time management skills
• Good communication skills and punctuality
• Team player attitude with willingness to assist colleagues
• Navy blue scrubs required

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,102.40
