Sterile Processing Technician Job in North Charleston, SC

MUSC Health - Consolidated Services Center is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our Surgical Services team. You will work 5x8 evening shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday with holiday rotation. No weekend requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

• Perform sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrap procedures
• Execute sterilization wrapping techniques and high-level disinfection protocols
• Conduct steam sterilization testing and monitoring
• Reprocess scopes and probes following established guidelines
• Assemble and prepare surgical sets and trays
• Monitor biological and chemical indicators
• Operate washers, sterilizers, and immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) equipment
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including potential assignments to sister facilities (CSC, Main, or West Campus)

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Travel experience required
• National certification: CBSPD and/or HSPA (IAHCSMM)
• Allied Health Professional credential

Preferred Experience:

• Case experience in neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedics, transplant, and gynecology
• Working with diverse surgical specialties including cardiac, orthopedics, robotics, neurology, urology, OB/GYN, and transplant

Position Details:

• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: September 8, 2026
• Weekly pay: $1,324.80
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks as part of guaranteed hours policy

You will support patient care across all age groups—infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
