About this role
MUSC Health - Consolidated Services Center is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our Surgical Services team. You will work 5x8 evening shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday with holiday rotation. No weekend requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrap procedures
- Execute sterilization wrapping techniques and high-level disinfection protocols
- Conduct steam sterilization testing and monitoring
- Reprocess scopes and probes following established guidelines
- Assemble and prepare surgical sets and trays
- Monitor biological and chemical indicators
- Operate washers, sterilizers, and immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) equipment
- Float within scope to meet facility needs, including potential assignments to sister facilities (CSC, Main, or West Campus)
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Travel experience required
- National certification: CBSPD and/or HSPA (IAHCSMM)
- Allied Health Professional credential
Preferred Experience:
- Case experience in neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedics, transplant, and gynecology
- Working with diverse surgical specialties including cardiac, orthopedics, robotics, neurology, urology, OB/GYN, and transplant
Position Details:
- Duration: 91 days
- Start date: September 8, 2026
- Weekly pay: $1,324.80
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks as part of guaranteed hours policy
You will support patient care across all age groups—infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
