PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Travel experience required
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 2-4 patients on days, nights, and weekends
• Unit has 5 beds with an average daily census of 4.5
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CCRN
• Required skills include telemetry, management and interpretation of dysrhythmias, and care of ventilated patients
• Patient diagnoses include hypertensive urgency, Afib with RVR, DKA/HHS, sepsis, respiratory insufficiency requiring BiPap, heart failure, COPD exacerbation, post-operative care, GI bleed, stable stroke, chronic ventilator care, unstable angina, and drug overdose
• Unit systems include Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Every other weekend required (6 shifts per 6-week schedule)
• Floating within facility and scope of practice may be required, including to sister campus
• No on-call requirements
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
• All requested time off must be finalized at time of submission; no schedule requests can be made post-offer or onsite
• Holiday work expectations apply based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, phlebotomy, and interpretation services
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
