Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg PCU Tele

Job Details:

• Work every other weekend schedule
• 16-hour night block orientation (NBO)
• Float assignment across multiple units including Med Surg, BH, ED, ICU and post-procedural areas based on census and staffing needs
• No designated home unit - primary care focus on Med Surg with floating responsibilities
• Patient ratios of 1:6
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
• Must have 24 months of experience in Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, or Telemetry
• Experience and proficiency required with drips including heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltizem, and digoxin
• Must be able to confidently read EKG/ECG and handle all telemetry-related duties including rhythm strips and dysrhythmia reads
• Must complete Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with passing score of 80% during onboarding
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA/ARC), ACLS (AHA/ARC)
• Preferred certifications: De-Escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, CPI), NIH Stroke Scale certificate
• Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
• First time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years hospital/medical center nursing experience
• Must maintain minimum 50-mile radius from facility
