ED Registered Nurse Job in Abilene, TX

Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 3x12-hour day shifts, paying $2,099.52 weekly. Your start date is July 27, 2026.

Role Overview

You will work in a Level I and II trauma center serving a daily census of 155 patients across 33 rooms and 37 beds. Patient ratios are 1:3 on days, nights, and weekends. You'll care for neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, managing a wide range of acute and critical presentations.

Required Experience & Credentials

• Minimum 5 years as an RN
• Minimum 2 years in emergency nursing
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS, and CPR-BCLS certifications
• Experience managing psychiatric holds, violent behavior, and suicidal patients

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

• Triage and rapid assessment
• IV vasopressor administration and arterial line management
• Chest tube and central line care
• Ventilator management and BiPAP/CPAP support
• Procedural sedation assistance and intubation support
• Dysrhythmia and ABG interpretation
• Blood product administration
• Multisystem organ dysfunction management

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma Level I and II experience
• Prior travel nursing assignments
• STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility experience
• Allscripts/Altera charting system familiarity

Support & Resources

You will receive 24 hours of orientation and work under block scheduling. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, and unit secretaries. One pre-approved time-off period is permitted during your assignment.
