Medical Lab Scientist Job in Anchorage, AK

Alaska Native Medical Center is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist for a 91-day travel assignment in Anchorage, AK. You'll work a 5x8 day shift schedule, Wednesday through Sunday, providing laboratory services across all patient age groups from neonates to adults.

Requirements:

• Current ASCP-MLS certification
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology
• Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience
• Previous travel healthcare experience required
• Must be located at least 100 miles from the facility

Preferred Qualifications:

• Trauma Level I facility experience
• Proficiency with Cerner and Epic charting systems
• Experience with Sysmex XM, Roche Cobas, Beckman, CellaVision, and Iris Cell equipment

Key Responsibilities:

You'll perform a full range of laboratory functions including blood specimen handling, automated and manual differential testing, microscopic and macroscopic urinalysis, gram staining, culture plating, PCR testing, rapid test kits, and quality assurance protocols. You'll prepare specimens and ensure compliance with laboratory standards across multiple test types.

Staffing Ratios:

• Days: 1:5
• Nights: 1:4
• Weekends: 1:3

You'll receive 8 hours of orientation to familiarize yourself with facility protocols and systems. This position is ideal for experienced lab scientists seeking a structured travel assignment with established staffing support and modern laboratory infrastructure.

Compensation: $2,016 weekly
