Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job in Fredericksburg, VA

Mary Washington Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our clinical team in Fredericksburg, VA. You will work 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with floating assignments across NICU, adult units, the emergency department, and adult ICU step-down units. Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required, along with potential mandatory on-call shifts at approximately 2 per month. You may be asked to serve as team lead during your shifts.

Your Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide airway management, medication administration, and oxygen therapy
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and analysis
• Manage BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizer treatments
• Conduct suctioning and pulmonary toileting
• Work collaboratively in adult critical care, emergency settings, and with NICU patients as acuity determines

Position Requirements

You must hold a current VA respiratory therapy license, BLS certification, and CRTT certification. ACLS certification is required within 90 days of your start date. A minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience is required, with demonstrated experience in adult critical care, emergency department, and community hospital settings. Level II trauma experience is required; Level I trauma experience is preferred. Preferred certifications include NRP and RRT credentials.

Operational Details

You will use the Epic charting system and are required to attend monthly department meetings or read meeting minutes and provide acknowledgment. Wine-colored scrubs are required. Upon assignment, you will complete up to 8 hours of non-billable training modules within your first week.

Compensation & Duration

This is a 91-day travel assignment with a weekly pay rate of $2,177.28. The assignment begins June 30, 2026.
