OB Technician Job in Bronx, NY

St. Barnabas Hospital is seeking an OB Technician for our Labor & Delivery unit. This is an 8-hour night shift position working from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a 94-week assignment starting August 26, 2026.

Position Overview

You will support our surgical and obstetric teams by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting during procedures. Your role is essential to ensuring safe, efficient patient care in a fast-paced labor and delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgery by setting up sterile instruments, supplies, medications, and equipment
• Prepare patients by shaving and cleaning the skin before procedures
• Assist the surgical team with scrubbing in and maintaining sterile technique
• Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization
• Pass instruments, sponges, and dressings to the surgeon during procedures
• Retract tissue, apply suction, and assist with suturing as needed
• Keep the operating room clean before and after each procedure

Requirements

• Allied Health Professional degree or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification

Schedule & Compensation

You will work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Guaranteed 35 hours per week after breaks. Weekly pay is $1,470.
