Respiratory Therapist Job in Austin, TX

St. David's Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week night shift contract assignment. You will work 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with rotating 4 weekend shifts per month. There are no call requirements for this position.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing approximately 35–40 patients per shift based on volume
• Operating GE ventilators, V60 BiPAPs, and Airvo HFNC equipment
• Performing standard respiratory therapy procedures including nebulizers, chest physical therapy, arterial blood gas collection, and ventilator management
• Administering inhaled nitric oxide therapy
• Assisting with bronchoscopy and intubation procedures
• Transporting patients with mechanical ventilation for imaging studies
• Using the Meditech EMR system for documentation and patient care coordination
• Collaborating effectively with the respiratory therapy team and other hospital disciplines

Required qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Allied Health
• Current Respiratory Therapist certification (CRT accepted)
• Adult respiratory experience in acute care settings

Preferred qualifications:

• Adult critical care experience in ICU or ED settings

The position runs for 91 days, with a start date of April 20, 2026. Weekly compensation is $1,445.40. Dress code consists of olive green tops with black pants.
