PCU RN Job in Oklahoma City, OK

OU Health is seeking an RN for a 16-hour night shift assignment on a mixed medical/surgical and stepdown acute care surgical floor in Oklahoma City, OK. This 89-week travel position starts July 6, 2026.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients
• Monitor and care for pre-transplant patients during inpatient evaluation stays
• Assess patients for infection, rejection, and ensure timely medication delivery
• Manage an assigned group of patients and document responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments
• Review and note all changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain physiological data, observe manifestations, and intervene as necessary
• Administer medications, initiate and regulate IV infusions, and manage blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospital stays and at discharge
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
• Make appropriate referrals for patient care needs
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of acute care surgical floor experience
• Stepdown/PCU experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• ENT and/or transplant experience
• Preceptor and charge nurse experience

This assignment is available to medical/surgical or stepdown nurses, with placement dependent on staffing needs. Operating room candidates will not be accepted for this position.
