ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Primary shift times are 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with potential alternate shift of 2:45 PM to 3:15 AM as needed
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on all shifts including weekends
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience required
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, with approximately 47% of patients over age 65
• High admission rate with approximately 35% of patients admitted
• Primary Stroke Center and top heart hospital designated as Level 1 for STEMI
• No trauma certification but cares for Level 3 trauma patients
• ESI acuity mix: Level 1 & 2's represent 23% of total population; ESI 4's represent 6%; ESI 5's are rare
• Special procedures include moderate sedation, chest tubes, intubations, central lines, and defibrillation/pacing
• Conscious sedation experience required
• Triage and ventilator experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, STEMI
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, CPI, ENPC, SANE
• Required skills include: care of ventilated patients, chest tube insertion/management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, IV vasopressor management, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Navy blue or grey scrubs required
