Opportunity:
RN - Tele
Job Details:
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Patient ratios: 1:4-5 with 36 rooms and an average daily census of 35
• Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No call requirements
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th–12th)
• Holiday coverage required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, traveler is expected to work those holidays; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, traveler is expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Required charting systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
• Telemetry unit with diagnoses including CHF, MI/Chest pain (pre- and post-cath), Dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), Hypo-/Hypertension, Pleural effusion, Sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
• Must be able to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration, including milrinone (Primacor), dobutamine (Dobutrex), Amiodarone, Cardizem, Lidocaine, Bumex, and Heparin
• Key skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, PCA management, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram/MI care, pre/post cardiac cath and surgery, telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Special equipment available: Sara Steady and other lift equipment
• Interdisciplinary support includes: IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary
• GA or Compact nursing license required
