RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe
• Must maintain 1:2-3 nurse to patient ratios for adult patients
• Care for 33-bed ICU with average daily census of 16 patients
• Treat patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Must be able to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitoring system
• Float to PCU or occasionally MedSurg with typical ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• Work with respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilators
• Complete pass/fail open book exam during orientation with 90% passing score required
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Chart in EPIC system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Driver's license required and must live outside 50-mile radius
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination
• Must respond within 30 minutes if called back from on-call status
• Self-scheduling available with travelers added to core staff schedule
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
