You'll work as an Electrophysiology Technician at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting May 11, 2026, paying $2,585.52 weekly.
Schedule and Expectations
- Work 3x12 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Two days of late case coverage per week required
- No on-call or weekend requirements
- No floating to other units
- Average daily caseload of 18 cases
- 20 hours of orientation provided
Your Responsibilities
You will perform cardiac electrophysiology studies, head-up-tilt tests, cardioversions, and internal loop recorder procedures. You'll assist with atrial flutter and fibrillation ablations, as well as supraventricular and ventricular tachycardia ablations. Your role includes assisting with device implants such as Watchman, Aveir, pacemakers, and defibrillators, along with device explants and lead extractions. You'll work with adult and geriatric patient populations, using hemodynamic monitoring, EKG settings, and vital signs assessment in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of EP Lab clinical experience minimum
- Current ACLS, BLS, and CCI RCES/RCIS certifications
- Proficiency with Cerner charting system
- Experience with Philips and Siemens X-ray machines and GE Micropacer equipment
- Knowledge of sinus node rhythms and electrophysiology lab protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT certification and fluoroscopy permit
- Experience with 3D mapping systems including Biosense, Abbott/ESI, GE/Abbott EP4, ViewMate ultrasound, Siemens ultrasound, and laser lead machines
Onboarding Requirements
You must complete facility-specific modules and pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms. The facility accepts first-time travelers who meet the required EP experience. Scrubs are provided by the hospital.
