Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Indianapolis, IN

IU Health University Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for their Surgical Services department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 13, 2026.

Position Overview:

You will work three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with 40–60 hours of on-call duty within a 6-week schedule. Holiday coverage is required; you must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. The facility operates 22 operating rooms handling an average of 35 surgical cases daily.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrub liver recipient transplants independently—liver transplant experience is mandatory
• Assist in large open belly cases, general, urology, thoracic, gynecology, plastics, and Whipple procedures
• Support liver resection and free flap cases
• Operate with the DaVinci XI surgical system
• Float to general OR and potentially to Riley for pediatric transplant cases as needed
• Maintain aseptic technique across all surgical specialties

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of surgical tech experience
• Strong transplant experience within the last 2 years (required)
• Current BCLS and NBSTSA certifications
• License in hand prior to start date
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Two supervisor references required
