PICU RN Job in Austin, TX

You'll work as an RN in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at North Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX. This is a 13-week contract position with 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. You'll earn $1,708.20 per week with no call requirements.

Your Role

You'll provide direct patient care in a PICU setting, managing critically ill pediatric patients with respiratory illnesses, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), seizure monitoring, and a variety of PICU diagnoses. You'll work with Alaris IV pumps, ventilators, and drips in a Meditech EMR system. Patient ratios will be 2 ICU patients to 1 RN, 1 ICU/2 IMC to 1 RN, or 1 ICU and 2 Med-Surg to 1 RN depending on patient acuity.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
• Previous PICU experience with ventilators and drips
• 1–2 years of PICU experience preferred
• NICU experience preferred

Schedule and Standards

You'll work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule. Navy scrubs are required, and artificial nails are not permitted.
