About this role
CHI St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist for its Cardiac Catheterization Lab. You will work day shifts Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with call requirements including weeknight call 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM (1–2 days per week), weekend call every third weekend on a 24-hour basis, and holiday call every other holiday. A 20-minute call response time is required.
The facility operates three cath lab suites performing an average of four cases per day. You will be responsible for scrubbing in and/or panning with IV starts as primary job duties. The majority of the role involves panning; candidates with panning experience only and no scrubbing background will be considered.
Common procedures include:
- Emergent revascularization
- Left and right heart catheterization
- Peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Cardioversion
- TEE
- Device implantation
- Pericardiocentesis
- Temporary pacemaker placement
Equipment experience preferred: IABP, Impella, Shockwave, Laser, IFR/FFR, IVUS, Rotapro, and 4-port manifold. IV start experience is preferred but not required.
You will have access to Philips Xper (Hemo), Siemens C-Arm, and the equipment listed above. The facility uses EPIC for charting. You may float to Heart and Vascular Pre/Post as needed to provide support.
Requirements and logistics: BLS certification is required. You must hold either RCIS or ARRT certification. RCIS-credentialed clinicians are not responsible for panning/activating fluoroscopy and do not require an ND license. ARRT-credentialed clinicians may be responsible for panning/activating fluoroscopy and must hold an active North Dakota Radiology Tech License. Your radiation badge must be in hand prior to your start date.
Orientation includes one week of classroom and lab training. The facility provides scrubs. You will need to bring your own lock for the locker and wear hospital-designated shoes. Schedules are posted 17 days in advance for 6-week blocks.
Assignment details: 91 days, 5x8 day shifts, $3,168 weekly pay. Start date: September 28, 2026.
