RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Provide direct nursing care for patients of all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in assigned areas
• Manage care of assigned patients and direct activities of ancillary staff
• Assess patients' physiological and psychological needs in a competent and comprehensive manner
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patients' care plans
• Demonstrate leadership skills through performance of charge nurse functions
• Self-scheduling with weekend coverage required
• On-call required depending on census
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 36 orientation hours required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charting experience required using Epic system
• Patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, Diabetes, CVA, Pneumonia, Sepsis, and Post-Surgical cases
• Required skills include telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care and management, IV placement and maintenance, wound care, tracheostomy care, and PICC line management
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Rapid Response Teams
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Valid California RN license required with Nursys verification
