Opportunity:

RN - Tele

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Med/Tele Charge RN role with charge rate of $5/hr additional compensation
• Work on a 25 private-bed unit (23 floor beds and 2 Medical Decision Unit beds)
• Patient population includes COPD exacerbation, CHF, swing bed patients, wound care, long-term antibiotics, amputations, as well as some postpartum and pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with 1:5 as a stretch
• Charge Nurse available on every shift and does not take patients
• Central telemetry monitoring with two portable telemetry monitors available
• Social Services available on floor with 3 Case Managers
• Typically 1-2 Nurse Aides or Unit Clerks available per shift
• In-house Pharmacy available until 11:00 PM Monday through Friday; remote Pharmacist through UNMC overnight and weekends
• Lab available 24/7 and handles blood draws
• Excellent Therapy services with patients seen several times daily
• Charting system: Meditech Expanse; Pumps: Alaris
• May float to ED but only function as task nurse
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit required
• Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital required
• BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) required; PALS preferred
• Must have own reliable transportation as Uber and Lyft services are not available in the area
• Skills checklist completed within one year of submittal required
• Two professional supervisor references from within the past three years required
