Job Details:

• Prepare instruments and set up all equipment necessary to perform endoscopy procedures
• Provide procedural assistance under the supervision of a physician
• Perform proper cleaning and maintenance of endoscopes following SGNA/ASGE standards
• Assist with patient care including positioning, lifting, and transporting patients
• Anticipate patient and physician needs for each procedure based on physician preferences
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient needs during procedures
• Maintain appropriate supply levels, monitor PAR levels, cost, and expiration dates
• Assist circulating nurse with surgical procedure set up and completion of procedures
• Maintain patient environment by stocking rooms and cleaning equipment as assigned
• Accurately enter and retrieve patient data using hospital information systems including PACS
• Practice universal precautions and infection control techniques during daily patient care activities
• Participate in performance improvement activities and team-based problem resolution
• Complete a minimum of 4 hours of approved continuing education in the field of endoscopy annually
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology in relation to all performed procedures
• Exercise independent judgment under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse
