About this role
CHRISTUS St Vincent Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our Cardiovascular Operating Room team in Santa Fe, NM. This 91-day travel assignment offers consistent evening shifts, working 5 days per week, 8 hours per day from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Weekly pay is $1,452.
About the Role
As a CVOR Technologist, you will provide essential technical support in the operating room, assisting physicians and the surgical team during cardiovascular and specialty procedures. Your responsibilities include:
- Prepare and position patients for surgery while demonstrating sensitivity to patient privacy and comfort
- Set up operating room tables, instruments, and supplies according to surgical procedure type and physician preference cards
- Establish and maintain the sterile field throughout all surgical cases
- Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to the physician as directed
- Perform pre-operative skin preparation in accordance with hospital standards
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and monitor for potential breaches
- Transport patients to and from the operating room suite
- Identify and care for biological specimens
- Demonstrate expertise in use and care of surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments
- Maintain proper traffic control, dress codes, and operating room sanitation policies
- Follow facility protocols for instrument decontamination, processing, and sterilization
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or LVN/LPN program
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License
- 2 or more years of surgical technologist experience preferred
- Proficiency scrubbing 3 specialty areas preferred, including Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, and Robotics
You must adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions and maintain compliance with all facility policies regarding patient safety and infection control.
