Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Float within scope to meet facility needs between like Med Surg units required
• Day/Evening patient ratios are 5:1 (stretch 6-7); Night ratios are 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10 if staff calls in)
• PCTs available on all units to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics; primary diagnoses include osteoarthritis and fractures
• 35-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Scrub color: any combination of navy and white
• NY nursing license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Block scheduling available but not guaranteed
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), PCA, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy management, and wound care/wound vac
