PACU Registered Nurse Job in Philadelphia, PA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, caring for patients immediately following surgical procedures and anesthesia recovery.

Schedule & Duration

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week (6:00 AM–6:30 PM or 8:00 AM–8:30 PM)
• On-call requirements: 2 shifts Monday–Friday and 1 weekend 12-hour shift within each 6-week cycle
• 1 summer and 1 winter on-call holiday required
• 13-week contract with self-scheduling; block scheduling not available
• 16-hour orientation period

Patient Care & Responsibilities

• Patient ratio: 1:2 across all shifts
• Care for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Possible daily float to Surgical Processing Unit, GI, or Pain Center
• May float to Tabor GI or Pain Center as needed

Clinical Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years in Critical Care or PACU
• Level I Trauma and ICU background required
• SICU, MICU, and CTICU experience preferred
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers welcome
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Required certifications: TNCC, PALS, ACLS, BLS, PATNCC

Clinical Procedures & Equipment

• Procedures: Craniotomies, liver and kidney transplants, GYN, urological, ENT, dental, general surgery, GI, cataracts, vascular, cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and Level I Trauma cases
• Equipment: Ventilators, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, ventriculostomy drains, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), and vasoactive IV titration

Systems & Support

• Charting systems: Cerner, Aecis, SurgiNet; Epic experience required
• Scrubs provided

• Weekly pay: $2,418
