CVICU RN Job in Reston, VA

Join Reston Hospital Center as a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) RN on a 91-day travel assignment. You will work the night shift (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) on a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, with weekend rotations occurring every 4 weeks.

In this role, you will provide direct patient care in a 4-bed CVICU focused on immediate post-surgical cardiac patients. Your responsibilities include:

• Managing 1:1 patient ratios for immediate post-surgical patients and 1:2 ratios for patients on post-operative day 1-3
• Delivering care within a primary nursing model
• Documenting patient information using the Meditech Expanse electronic documentation system
• Supporting a new cardiac surgery program launch
• Maintaining the same patient ratio when floating to other units

You must bring 1-2 years of direct experience caring for fresh cardiac surgery patients and managing immediate post-operative recovery. Required certifications and advanced skills include:

• ACLS certification (required)
• Balloon pump training
• Impella training
• Hemosphere or Acumen training

This assignment runs for 91 days beginning July 27, 2026, and offers a weekly pay of $2,260.08. You will be expected to wear navy blue scrubs. Reston Hospital Center is actively building its cardiac surgery program and is seeking experienced nurses to lead this expansion.
