Medical Lab Technician

Lab Tech - Lab

Job Details:

• Work Thursday through Saturday from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Required to work every other Wednesday from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• 2 years of experience required
• Required certification: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) (ASCP)
• Nevada license preferred; preference given to candidates who already hold their NV license
• Provide quality and timely laboratory testing services for inpatient and outpatient populations of all ages
• Clearly report test results to nursing and/or medical staff through direct communication or computer entry
• Communicate delays in patient care and assist with technical questions for clinical lab assistants, physicians, and nurses
• Consider patient age when performing testing and releasing results
• Must be able to communicate with a diverse patient population and their families when performing special procedures
• May be required to float to other departments up to competency level
• Required to work 2 or 3 major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• Schedule varies based on department needs
