Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 4x12 shift schedule with 48-hour weeks
• Night and day shifts available with patient ratios of 6:1
• Weekend coverage required on a rotation basis
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend block schedule may be considered but must be discussed during interview
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Tele experience required; first-time travelers accepted only with 3+ years of recent experience
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Unit is a 45-bed floor with primary surgical oncology patients, medical oncology overflow, and medical-surgical overflow
• Patients frequently present with central lines including PICC lines, PAC, and midlines
• Perform wound care, drain management, ostomy care, and Foley catheter care
• Manage PCA pumps and administer chemotherapy (ONS nurses only)
• Limited phlebotomy coverage at night
• Daily census of 30-35 patients
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and more
• Team nursing model utilized
• EPIC experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: IV Start, Conscious Sedation, Administer Chemo (for ONS nurses)
• Must hold an active RN license in Tennessee or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
