Medical Assistant - Medical Assistant

Job Details:

• Provide clinical and clerical support to providers and members of the patient care team
• Perform a variety of back office and patient-related tasks supporting high-quality patient care
• Help ensure smooth patient and workflow within the department
• Assist the patient care team in implementing medical plan of care
• Integrate education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills
• Perform all duties under the direction of a clinician
• Required skills include administering medication, authorization forms, blood glucose via glucometer, follow up phone calls, immunizations, insurance verification, intramuscular injections, labeling specimens, obtaining vital signs, pulse oximetry, recording history/medications/allergies, rooming patients, strep and throat procedures
• BLS certification required (must be AHA or American Red Cross)
• Minimum 1 year of experience required (2 years preferred for submission)
• MUST have cardiology experience with EKG experience as a plus
• Certified MA preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Valid California state license required at time of submission
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
• 7-year work history verification required
• 2 references obtained within the last year required
• Must complete non-billable modules during orientation (average 1-5 hours)
