Job Details:

• Work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
• 40 hours per week guaranteed
• On call/callback responsibilities per unit needs
• Inspect, assemble, package and sterilize surgical instrument pans, procedural trays, and surgical case carts
• Operate steam sterilizers following established procedures and monitor time, pressure, and temperature gauges
• Check and adjust medical equipment to ensure proper operation before issuing
• Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment following established procedures
• Receive and store supplies from vendors, check stock against requisitions, and maintain inventory par levels
• Perform quality assurance checks on stock levels, sterility dates, and procedure carts
• Complete critical documentation including biologicals and sterilizer load sheets
• Work with state-of-the-art decontamination, high level disinfection, and sterilization equipment
• Use machines including sterilizers, heat sealers, ultrasonic washers, aerators, and cart wash systems
• Track instruments and supplies using Getinge's T-DOC bar code system
• Required certifications: Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD) and BLS
• Minimum 3 years experience as SPT with large hospital experience (500+ beds)
• Must have 6 months travel experience
• Two professional references from last two assignments required
• Preferred qualifications include Level 1 trauma center experience, CER certification, and orthopedic tray experience
