Special Procedures Technologist in Charlottesville, VA

University of Virginia Medical Center is seeking a Special Procedures Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment in Interventional Radiology. You will provide imaging support in the operating room, working directly with vascular interventional radiology procedures.

Schedule & Location

• 5x8-hour day shifts with core hours 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Rotating call required every 4th week
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Weekly pay: $3,447
• Start date: October 12, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Pull inventory and order cases in Epic prior to procedures
• Run the table and controls during vascular IR cases
• Perform 3D spins and work with fusion technology
• Actively engage in filming and post-processing images throughout procedures
• Use HI-IQ to document and track inventory used during cases
• Support simple surgical cases using C-arm equipment during downtime, including Impellas and cystos (AP fluoro)
• Work closely with vascular surgeons, OR team, and procedural team members
• Utilize Siemens ARTIS PHENO equipment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in vascular/interventional radiology
• Strong familiarity with Hybrid OR procedures
• Ability to work independently
• ARRT VI certification and BLS required
• Virginia state license required; pending license accepted if licensure held in another state
• Epic charting system experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma Level I facility experience
• Skills in angioplasty, carotid stenting, endovascular interventions, EVAR, TEVAR, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, ultrasound, extremity angiography, and vascular closure systems
