CVOR First Assist

Opportunity:

CSFA - First Assist OR

Job Details:

• Work four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
• OR is closed on holidays and weekends except for call coverage
• Call required approximately 3-4 call shifts per month
• Weekend call rotation is typically 1 weekend every 6-7 weeks, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday counting as 3 call shifts for the month
• Holidays are covered by call
• 30-minute call response time required - must be dressed and ready to work within 30 minutes
• Facility operates 4 rooms including 3 OR suites and 1 procedure room
• Case volume varies: 20-22 cases per day on Tuesday and Thursday, and 6-14 cases per day on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
• Common cases include total joints (hips, knees, shoulders), sports medicine, arthroscopies, ORIF procedures, ACL repairs, carpal tunnel, cataract surgeries, bowel resections, laparoscopic scopes, EGDs, gallbladder, appendectomies, breast biopsies, mastectomies, C-sections, hysterectomies, urology, and plastics
• DaVinci Robotic experience required
• Must have experience with total joints, endoscopy, and ophthalmology
• Prior travel experience preferred but first-time travelers with strong relevant OR experience will be considered
• Scrubs are provided
• 3-shift orientation with a preceptor in the department following general hospital orientation
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Charting system: EPIC
• Acute care setting
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) via NBSTSA verification
