ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - MICU

Job Details:

• Night shift position with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off available per contract
• Back to back weekends off cannot be approved
• Care for adult patients with predominantly multi-system failure and co-morbid conditions
• Common diagnoses include sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, and organ failure
• Work across two ICU units totaling 28 beds (16 beds on MICU3 and 12 beds on MICU4)
• Perform and assist with special procedures including percutaneous trachs, CVC placements, arterial lines, CRRT, SLED, PA catheters, chest tubes, thoracentesis, paracentesis, PEG placements, intubation, conscious sedation, and diagnostic patient transport
• Operate special equipment including Accu-check/Glucommander, ABGs/point of care testing, and ventilators
• Must float within scope of practice within the facility
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCRN
• Virginia nursing license required (pending license accepted at time of submission; must have license in-hand by Wednesday before start date)
