Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on our acute Medical-Surgical unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. This is a 12-hour shift position running from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM on a 3x12 day schedule, rotating every other weekend with permanent staff.

Your Role

You'll provide direct patient care with a 1:6 patient ratio on both day and night shifts. Your patients will include those with diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleeds, renal failure, dialysis needs, post-surgical overflow, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, ETOH use, and psychiatric conditions. You'll administer medications such as Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin, and operate CPAP and BiPAP equipment as needed. You'll work within a primary care nursing model focused on patient satisfaction and quality outcomes.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• 2 years of Med Surg experience required
• Experience in larger organizations with high acuity, high turnover, and fast-paced environments
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS preferred

Work Environment

You'll chart in MEDITECH and collaborate with CNA support staff and LPNs. You may float to other acute care units and cardiology as needed. You must comply with a strict 75-mile radius rule from the facility.

Facility Standards

• Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs or white scrubs with Caribbean blue bottoms
• No artificial or shellac nails—polished nails only
• No bags at nurses station; lockers with personal locks available
• Strict attendance policy enforced

Assignment Details

This is a 119-day travel contract beginning May 11, 2026. You'll earn $2,102.40 per week.
