PCU RN Job in Bismarck, ND

You will work as an RN in the Progressive Care Unit at CHI St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting August 10, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,255.04.

Schedule and Staffing

• 3x12 shifts, days (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) or nights (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Rotating shifts no more than weekly
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4–5 (occasional 5–6 on nights); 1:3 for PCU-level overflow

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for adults and geriatrics with cardiac conditions, post-cardiac catheterization patients, EP studies, pacemakers, ETOH, COVID BiPap, and general surgical patients with cardiac history
• Titrate drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroprusside, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine
• Read and interpret telemetry and cardiac strips independently
• Work with respiratory equipment including BiPap, trachs, and Airvo
• Float to all areas as helping hands; PCU for full patient load; medical-surgical for full assignments; some ER holds and boarding

Onboarding

• Two 12-hour orientation shifts on Friday and Saturday of your first week
• Working independently by Sunday

Requirements

• Current PCU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to read cardiac strips independently
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Any color scrubs permitted

Travel experience and first-time travelers are welcome. BSN is not required.
