About this role
You will provide direct nursing care to pediatric intensive care patients whose conditions range from straightforward to highly complex. As a PICU nurse at Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health, you'll work the night shift—three 12-hour shifts per week—managing a patient assignment under general supervision and making clinical decisions that directly impact outcomes.
Your responsibilities include:
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care to assigned PICU patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
- Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations, and intervene when clinically necessary
- Administer medications and manage intravenous infusions and blood products
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicate with families and patients regarding care plans during hospitalization and discharge planning
- Make appropriate referrals for specialized patient care needs
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
Required qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience
- ICU experience required
- Level I trauma experience required
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- PALS certification from American Heart Association
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Basic computer skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
This 89-week assignment begins May 4, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,930.40.
