About this role

You will provide direct nursing care to pediatric intensive care patients whose conditions range from straightforward to highly complex. As a PICU nurse at Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health, you'll work the night shift—three 12-hour shifts per week—managing a patient assignment under general supervision and making clinical decisions that directly impact outcomes.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Deliver evidence-based nursing care to assigned PICU patients
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations, and intervene when clinically necessary
  • Administer medications and manage intravenous infusions and blood products
  • Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Communicate with families and patients regarding care plans during hospitalization and discharge planning
  • Make appropriate referrals for specialized patient care needs
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed

Required qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
  • Minimum 1 year nursing experience
  • ICU experience required
  • Level I trauma experience required
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
  • PALS certification from American Heart Association
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

This 89-week assignment begins May 4, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,930.40.
