Med Surg RN Job in Brownwood, TX

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a Medical-Surgical unit at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of July 13, 2026, offering $1,995.84 weekly pay.

Schedule and Shift Details

• 3x12 Night shifts
• Weekend coverage required: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• One call shift per 6-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends

Unit Overview

The 13-bed Med-Surg unit cares for adults and geriatrics with a daily census of 10–13 patients. You will manage post-op, orthopedic, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, CBI, and urological cases. This unit does not have telemetry monitoring or cardiovascular drips.

Clinical Skills Required

• Accessing and managing ports
• BiPAP and CPAP management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care
• Chest tube management
• Colostomy care
• Feeding tube management
• Wound care and IV management

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with patient ratio experience at 5:1
• Travel nursing experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Allscripts charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred

Onboarding Requirements

• 40 hours of orientation required (non-billable modules average 6–8 hours)
• Mandatory drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing
• Required lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the offer
• Hard document deadline: Thursday 2 p.m. CST prior to start date
