Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work day/evening shifts from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
• Float to Med Surg PRN as needed
• Day/evening patient ratios are 5:1 (with stretch to 6-7); night ratios are 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10 if staff calls in)
• Care for post-operative patients who are fully recovered and awaiting disposition (discharge or bed placement)
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients with ortho, neuro, GYN, and general surgical cases, as well as patients needing observation
• PCT support provided during shift hours
• 1 year of RN experience required, preferably with post-operative experience
• First-time travelers accepted; orientation provided in PACU Extended Stay
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Epic charting system experience is required
• New York nursing license required
• Required certifications: BLS; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Required skills: Cardiac Telemetry, MS/Tele, Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Heparin Protocols, Total joint replacement, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Phlebotomy
